We have developed an electric start kit based on the original factory fitted kit for the Petter AV, PH and PJ range of engines. The kit can be used with both air and water cooled versions. We can offer the kit in several variations:
- Basic kit: includes starter bracket, flywheel gear ring, fastenings and joint.
- Standard kit: includes starter motor, starter bracket, flywheel gear ring, fastenings and joint.
- Electric start and charging kit: includes starter motor, starter bracket with alternator mounting, flywheel gear ring, fastenings and joint, alternator.
- Complete electric start and charging kit: includes starter motor, starter bracket with alternator mounting, flywheel gear ring, fastenings and joint, alternator, basic wiring loom, ignition.
NOTES:
The fitment of the flywheel gear ring requires the flywheel to be machined. We can offer this service, or alternatively supply a flywheel with gear ring fitted on an exchange basis.
The kit is primarily intended for use on engines with two or more cylinders. The starter motor bracket replaces the No.2 cylinder crankcase door. The kit can be used on a single cylinder engine however does not have the dipstick or oil filler so would need modification to retain these facilities where fitted to single cylinder engines.
The flywheel gear ring supplied cannot be used on PJ engines where the flywheel has been machined at the factory but no gear ring fitted (there will be a step in the back of the flywheel).
